KOHLU (BALOCHISTAN): Security forces have conducted an IBO here on Friday (26th December, 2025) and neutralised five militants during an exchange of fire.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives have been discovered from the slain militants who were engaged in terrorist activities against LEA personnel as well as civilians.

Militants killed in Lakki Marwat

In another clash with militants in Lakki Marwat (KP), 6 terrorists were neutralised and several others injured on Friday in a clash between police forces, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) commandos and armed locals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat. According to Police militants even used quadcopter to attack villagers’ houses and injured many: “The terrorists, armed with sniper rifles and quadcopters, attacked the police in the rural area bordering Bannu district and located within the limits of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station of Serai Naurang town. The attack triggered a fierce gun battle as the law enforcers returned the fire effectively.”

Militants from Afghanistan attack Pakistan

Militants have been attacking the LEA personnel as well as civilians. Pakistani forces too incessantly. For instance, Militants attacked a checkpost in the border area of Takhti Khel Wazir here on 23rd July, injuring six FC personnel who were transported to Combined Military Hospital.

According to Pakistan Govt the Afghan-based militants carry out such attacks in Pakistan after crossing the border. For instance, 4 suicide bombers crashed two vehicles, laden with explosives, onto the entrance of Cantonment area here on 4th March, damaging the perimeter wall, nearby houses and a mosque.

Following the massive blasts the militants attempted to enter the premises but security forces engaged them. After the exchange of fire a dozen terrorists were neutralised. Altogether sixteen militants died.

ISPR, informing that five soldiers gave the ultimate sacrifice during the exchange of fire, stated: “On 4th March 2025, a cowardly terrorist attack was attempted on Bannu Cantonment by Khwarij elements. The assailants sought to breach the cantonment’s security; however, their nefarious designs were swiftly and decisively foiled”.

13 civilians (including women and children) lost their lives, while thirty-one got injured due to explosions. While a mosque was damaged, roofs of nearby batiments caved in due to repercussions.

Maintaining that the attack was orchestrated by Afghanistan-based militants, the interim government in Kabul has been told that Pakistan expected it to uphold its responsibilities and deny its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan that reserves the right to take necessary measures.

It may be recalled that on 15th July, 2024 ten terrorists attacked and tried to reach the supply depot in Cantt area here, but when LEA personnel retaliated and prevented them from entering the premises, they rammed an explosive-laden vehicle on the perimeter wall.

Due to the suicide bombing a wall collapsed claiming lives of Naib Subedar Muhammad Shehzad, 44; Havaldar Zil-e-Hussain, 39; Havaldar Shahzad Ahmed, 28; Sepoy Ashfaq Hussain Khan, 30; Sepoy Sobhan Majeed, 22; Sepoy Imtiaz Khan, 30; Sepoy Arsalan Aslam, 26, belonging to the Pakistan Army as well as Lance Naik Sabz Ali, 34, of the Frontier Constabulary.

In the ensuing operation, LEA personnel engaged the terrorists and neutralized all ten of them. It is pertinent to mention here since TTP ended the truce, Afghanistan-based militants had increased their terrorist activities in Pakistan.
