Best JIT formed to probe Chunian incident: CM Punjab

CHUNIAN: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the government was taking action against those involved in the Chunian incident and  they will be brought to justice.

Buzdar reached Chunian and met the families of minor victims who were kidnapped and later killed after sexual abuse today. On the occasion, the chief minister announced Rs5 million cash reward for anyone who would provide information in solving the case.

Later, talking to media, Buzdar said that he visited Chunian to express his condolences with the grieving families.

“All responsible officers have been suspended. The case will be tried in a special court,” he assured the families of the victims.

Buzdar claimed that the Punjab government has formed the best joint investigation team to trace the case.

“The case will be investigated on merit and no negligence will be tolerated,” he said, adding that the Punjab government will provide all resources to trace the accused.
