BEIRUT: Following the death of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem (who remained attached to the movement for three decades as a senior leader,) has been elected the new head of the Lebanese armed outfit on Tuesday (29th October, 2024).
Naim Qassem, during his 8th October, 30-minute, televised address from an undisclosed location said that Israel’s painful blows had failed to dampen the capabilities of Hezbollah. Nevertheless, he said his group supported the endeavours of Nabih Berri (Speaker of the Parliament, who happens to be a Hezbollah ally) to secure a ceasefire.
