SIBI (Balochistan): Four people (Hammad Khan, Abdul Wasay, Muhammad Rafiq & Muhammad Zahid) lost their lives while five (Suhrab Khan, Runaq Kumar, Nadir Hussain, Khair Muhammad, Abdul Habib & Tuheed) were gravely wounded in planted IED blast at a PTI rally on Jinnah Road here on Tuesday (30th of Jan, 2024).
PTI took to the X (Twitter) to state that a bomb attack was carried out at the rally of Saddam Tarin, its candidate for the 8th Feb General Elections, that claimed lives of three workers and wounded seven more.

Meanwhile, Balochistan’s Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai Tweeted: “Regardless of the actions of terrorists, the elections will proceed as planned. The rally in #Sibi, which was targeted by terrorists, will not discourage the Govt of Balochistan from conducting the elections.
“It is evident that these terrorists aim to disrupt the election process and its results.
“However, the resilient people of Balochistan, by the grace of God, will ensure that at least 50 percent of the population actively participates in the voting process on #February 8th.“

APP Adds: At least four people died and six others sustained injuries in the blast at the Jinnah Road area of Sibi Town on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the political rally was crossing Jinnah Road when a planted Improvise Explosive Devise (IED) beside the GPO Chowk went off. As a result, four people died on the spot while six others received injuries.
The bodies and the injured were rushed to district headquarters hospital (DHQ) Sibi where the injured victims’ treatment was started.
According to Balochistan Health Department Media Coordinator Dr. Wasim Baig, the bodies were identified as Hamad Khan, Abdul Wasay, Muhammad Rafiq and Muhammad Zahid while the injured including Suhrab Khan, Runaq Kumar, Nadir Hussain, Khair Muhammad, Abdul Habib and Tuheed.
Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) reached the site and cordoned off the entire area and started investigation.
Dr. Wasim Baig said that Secretary Health Abdullah Khan directed concerned of the hospital to take all possible measures to provide the best health facilities to the injured victims.
