BYC dharna continues despite truce

GWADAR/KARACHI: Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) is continuing their dharna on Saturday (3rd August, 2024) at different locales of the Province, despite inking a truce with the government a day earlier, saying that they did not disperse (peacefully) because their demands apropos release of arrested protesters and quashing the FIRs against them were not met.

KARACHI: Meanwhile, when members of BYC converged at M R Kiyani Road here on Friday (2nd August, 2024) in order to manifest against alleged arrest and torture of their colleagues in Gwadar, Police nabbed fifty men and women workers while they were marching towards KPC.

Police, denying the charges of manhandling the supporters, stated that the organizers were warned not to resort to illegal assembly inside the Red Zone. While detained women were released after few hours (following making their videos in the PS), twenty-two male marchers had been booked under section 144, who will be presented before a magistrate.
