ISLAMABAD: China has been awarded the $2B contract on Thursday (29th August, 2024) for the construction of Thakot-Raikot section of KKH.

Invoking a special rule the requirement of an int’l bidding was exempted and the Chinese firms were handed over the contract.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Thakot-Raikot section of the KKH is important to keep the two countries connected through the land route.
