CJP says parents can’t deny kids’ basic rights: Child maid torture case

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has said that even parents dont have a right to deny fundamental rights to their children. He was commenting on the recent torture case of a 10-year-old maid Tayyaba Bibi (or Amna?)

According to details CJP, who is heading a two-member bench hearing the case has questioned how parents patched-up with with the torturers of their child.

Moreover,  since a couple has also claimed to be parents  of the child, a DNA test has also been ordered to ascertain who the real parents are. Meanwhile, the other couple who had been reckoned so far the parents disappeared from the scene. 

The claimants say the real name of the child is Amna and not Tayyabi. Union Council does not have any record of her birth.

ISLAMABAD (5 Jan., 2017): A District Magistrate here has written to the Executive Director of PIMS to form a medical board in order to establish what caused the wounds on the 10-year-old victim Tayyaba Bibi who has allegedly been tortured by a sitting judge of a lower court and his family.  

News that parents of the child had patched-up with the alleged tormentor had caused an exceptionally hostile reaction from the civil society.  

Earlier the concerned SSP maintained that the cause of wounds on the rear side of the victim needed to be ascertained in order to conclude the investigation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Tayyaba was earlier examined on 29 Dec (2016) at PIMS.

Sources privy to NewsPaksitan.TV have informed that the requested board has been constituted. It comprises of Dr. Asma (Psychologist), Dr. Hameed-ud-din (Plastic Surgeon), Dr. S.H. Waqar (General Surgeon) and Dr. Tariq Iqbal (Burns Surgeon). The board will be furnishing their report with 2days following examination.
