ISLAMABAD: A team of eight Chinese doctors have arrived here in a special plane to help the local administration contain the menace of Coronavirus.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who was at the airport to receive the doctors and the medical equipment they brought with them from China for Pakistan, thanked the Chinese government for sending the team and assistance. NDMA Chairman Lt. General Muhammad Afzal, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, and Chinese Envoy Yao Jing were also present on the occasion.
He said that Pakistani health workers will benefit from the experience of Chinese doctors. He reiterated that China had always supported Pakistan at difficult times and two countries stood side by side. The Chinese doctors will remain in Pakistan for two weeks and advise health care specialists of Pakistan in the light of their experience and success in combating the Coronavirus in Pakistan.So far China has provided 12,000 test kits, three million masks, 10,000 protective suits. Xinjiang government has also provided 50,000 masks each to the Federal Capital as well as to Sindh government. China has also provided US $ four million facilitating building of an isolation hospital. Shah Mehmood Quresihi informed that the number of ventilators were being increased in the country. He also told that measures were being taken to increase the number of coronavirus tests.

PM’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza has informed that a team of eight Chinese doctors will arrive here today (Saturday 28th of March, 2020) in order to assist the local administration presently engaged in a battle against deadly Coronavirus.
According to Dr. Zafar Mirza the Chinese doctors will not only review measures taken here to contain the mysterious malady but will also provide technical support.
It is expected that Pakistani Medical workers will be able to enormously benefit from the experiences of the Chinese doctors who had successfully defeated the virus in their country.
Alibaba and Jack Ma Foundation donates med. supplies to Pakistan

KARACHI: A plane loaded with medical supplies donated by Alibaba & Jack Ma Foundation landed here today.
National Disaster Management Authority spokesman informed that the second consignment from the same donor carried 50,000 testing kits.

KHUNJERAB PASS: Embassy of China has informed that medical supplies worth Rs. 67 million has arrived here today.
According to details provided by the Chinese diplomatic post here the consignment includes masks, test kits, ventilators and personal protection equipment.
Coronavirus: Pakistan gets relief goods from China

KARACHI: Half a million (including N95) face masks and 50,000 Coronavirus test kits donated by Chinese Government reached here today via cargo plane.
Embassy of China in Pakistan has taken to the Twitter to inform: “A plane bound for Pakistan carrying N95 and surgical masks sponsored by China’s @JackMa Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation has taken off. China is standing together with Pak through thick and thin.”
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah arrived at Jinnah International Airport to receive the donations that will contribute greatly towards Pakistan’s efforts to effectively tackle the Coronavirus pandemic.
President Dr. Arif Alvi leaves for China on a two-day visit

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has left for China today for a two-day visit. There he will be meeting his counterpart President Xi Jinping.
Dr. Alvi said he was undertaking the visit to express solidarity with the Chinese leadership and people and appreciate their efforts to handle the Coronavirus. He would also express condolence with the Chinese leadership over the loss of precious human lives due Coronavirus.
The visit will also provide Pakistani delegation an opportunity to learn from the Chinese experiences regarding containing the mysterious malady. President is accompanied, among others, by Foreign Minister and Minister for Planning/Development. A number of MoUs are expected to be signed during the visit.
Pakistan did not suspend flight operations to and from China

ISLAMABAD: It was insinuated by certain quarters that in order to prevent an outbreak of Novel Coronavirus Pakistan had suspended passenger flights to and from China where the malady has claimed 500 lives.
However, State Minister for Health Dr Zafar Mirza clarified that no such decision had been taken. It is pertinent to mention here that flights were suspended between two countries earlier. But when WHO had declared the Novel Coronavirus a global emergency, flights resumed bringing Pakistanis back home from China.
According to the Minister government had defined SOPs at all the airports. He said that teams from the Capital would go into the provinces to ensure they were on the same page. He held that it was better for those Pakistanis stuck in Wuhan to stay put as there they would be monitored and treated.
Coronavirus: Another flight from China lands at Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: As Coronavirus death toll reached 500 in China, another flight carrying 122 people (including 31 Chinese Nationals) from there landed here today.
