COVID-19:The blessing of Drive-Through Vaccination facility in Karachi (Video and Text)

KARACHI: As soon as the Federal and Provincial Governments have warned that Mobile SIMS of non-vaccinated citoyens would be blocked, they will not be able to draw their salaries or travel by road or by air, inhabitants of the port city thronged the inoculation centers by hordes.

In this scenario JS Bank’s initiative of a COVID-19 Drive-Through Vaccination facility (next to Urban Forest, Block 3, Clifton) in collaboration with the Government of Sindh and Deputy Commissioner District South, Irshad Ali Sodhar, was heartily applauded by the karachiites.

According to JS Bank, “With six drive-through lanes and the capacity to serve thousands of people per day, the service is free-of-charge and is being offered between 4 pm – 12 am, 7 days a week, allowing the public to get vaccinated without them having to step out of their cars.” JS Bank further informed that they were injecting Moderna, Sinovac, CanSino, Pakvac, & Sinopharm as per the wish of visitors.

Commenting on the initiative Basir Shamsie, President and CEO – JS Bank held: “JS Bank has always strived to give back to the society in which it operates. As a socially responsible entity, this vaccination drive is a symbol of our commitment to our nation and is our national duty. We are deeply grateful to the Government of Sindh for their support in effective collaboration. We hope that this drive will result in a measurable impact and help the nation combat the disease.” Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has urged people to visit the facility and get themselves vaccinated and keep themselves safe.

When contacted by the NPTV, visitors to the Drive-Through Vaccination Facility appreciated the initiative. Many lamented that vaccination points like Expo Center were totally mismanaged. Due to absence of any plan, enormous number of people were converging there without observing the SOPs. Hence instead of containing the Pandemic these centers were contributing towards augmenting the mysterious respiratory disease case by Coronavirus.
