Cricket, 1st ODI: Australia Beats Pakistan by 2 Wickets

MELBOURNE CRICKET GROUND: Australia, that won the toss and elected to field first, limited Pakistan to 204 runs in the 1st ODI being played here on Monday (4th November, 2024) and managed to beat Green Shirts in 34th over for the loss of 8 wickets.

Green Shirts mustered 203 runs up as Rizwan scored 44 and Naseem chipped 40 runs in (despite failure of the batting order).

Kangaroos successfully chased the target with the Inglis’ bat yielding 49, Smith making 44 runs and Cummins contributing 32.

Australia: Matt Short, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Steve Smith, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Hardie, Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins (Skipper), Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa.

Pakistan: Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (Skipper), Kamran Ghulam, Agha Salman, Irfan Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain.

The 2nd ODI will be played at Adelaide Oval on Friday (8th November, 2024) and the last ODI is scheduled to be played on Sunday (10th November, 2024) at Perth Stadium.
