Cricket, 2nd Test, 2nd day: S. Africa scores 615 against Pk

NEWLANDS (CAPE TOWN): On the second day of the 2nd match being played here on Saturday (4th Jan, 2025) South Africa scored 615 against Green Shirts for the loss of five wickets as opener Ryan Rickelton chipped in 259 runs.

Pakistan, that scored 64 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, will recommence its uphill journey on Sunday (5th Jan) attempting to make 552 runs.

South Africa, that had opted to bat against Pakistan after winning the toss scored 316 runs at stumps in 2nd of the 2-match series (which Proteas are leading by 1-0) here on Friday (3rd Jan 2025). Unfortunately, for Green Shirts, its left-hand opener Saim Ayub’s ankle got twisted and he had to leave the ground (for a six-week rest).
