Cricket, ICC T20I WC 2024: US beats Pakistan

DALLAS (Grand Prairie Stadium): Unknown US cricket team has beaten the illustrious Green Shirts in the ICC T20I World Cup played here on Thursday (6th June, 2024).

Humiliating defeat of Pakistan cricket team by USA in a Super Over is being considered as one of the biggest upsets in the history of T20I WC history.

DALLAS: Captain of the co-host USA, Monank Patel, after winning the toss, decided to field. Batting first Pakistan scored 159 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.


After the dismissal of Shadab Khan (who scored 40 off 25 balls) the 25-year-old overweight Azam Khan got out on a golden duck. Then came the Skipper Babar Azam whose bat yielded 44 runs off 43 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed mustered 18 runs up. Shaheen Afridi scored 23 runs off 16 balls. Later, in the Super Over Pakistan managed to score 13 against Americans’ 19.


DALLAS: US Envoy to Pakistan Donald Blome and Pakistani Ambassador to USA Masood Khan were also among those who witnessed the match. Masood Khan congratulated American team.
