MULTAN CRICKET STADIUM: In the 9th edition of PSL, Multan Sultans defeated Quetta Gladiators by 13 runs here on Sunday (25th Feb, 2024).
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Multan Sultans scored 180 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Reza Hendricks scored with 72 runs and Captain Muhammad Rizwan with 51 runs remained the main scorers.

Chasing a victory target of 181 runs, the Quetta Gladiators team managed to score 167 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Khawaja Nafay with 36 runs and Captain Rilee Rossouw with 30 runs remained the main scorers.

So far in the tournament, Multan Sultans have played 5 matches and won 4, while Quetta Gladiators have won three matches and failed in one.

APP Adds: Coach of Multan Sultans, Muhammad Waseem said that the victory against Quetta Gladiators was a combined effort.
Holding a press conference after the match at the stadium, Muhammad Waseem said the conditions would be different in the next matches as the matches would not be at the home ground.
He said that overseas and senior players performed key roles in the victory of the team while the performance of the local players was also impressive. He said that the team was not depending on a single player but the combined efforts.
He said that the pitch was supporting the spinners and setting a target of 170 was the plan of the game.
To a question, Waseem said that not only Multan Sultans but all teams were showing weaknesses in fielding, adding that special training was being ensured for players to improve fielding and there would be no more catch drops in the next matches.
He lauded the team management for picking Muhammad Ali and said that he has full control of the bowling and once again shines in today’s match.

In the 11th match of Pakistan Super League 9, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sultans scored 180 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Reeza Hendricks remained the top scorer scoring 72 runs while Captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 51 runs.
Apart from this, Usman Khan scored 14 runs and Tayyab Tahir scored 35 runs. Multan Sultans set a challenging target of 181 runs to win for Quetta Gladiators.
Quetta Gladiators failed to achieve the target as the team managed to score 167 runs after Abrar was bowled at the last ball of the last over.
From Quetta Gladiators, Khawaja Naffay scored 36 runs, Captain Rilley Rossow scored 30 runs, Saud Shakeel 24 runs and Sherfane Rutherford scored 21 runs.
David Willy and Muhammad Ali of Multan Sultans took three wickets each, while Aftab Ibrahim took two wickets.
Saud Shakeel, Khawaja Nafay, and Rilee Rossouw of Quetta Gladiators all got starts, but nobody could hang around for long enough to keep the required rate in check. The Sultans only need a sniff to get back in the game.
Mohammad Ali was the standout performer again, picking 3/19, and his fellow bowling spearhead David Willey picked three vital wickets as well.
The youngster Aftab Ibrahim didn’t look nervous in his first game.
