RAWALPINDI: JI Emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, who is leading a dharna (sit in by hundreds of party workers/supporters) at Liaquat Bagh for the last two days, warned that if government did not reduce inflated power bills, conducted forensic audit of IPPs and revoked tax slab on salaried class, the protest would spread to entire Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that violent protests in Kashmir had forced the authorities drastically reduce electricity bills. It is yet to be seen how long JI can hold on. Meanwhile, the citoyens of twin cities have been facing difficulties in commuting to and fro their places of work, educational institutions, medical facilities etc. Not only the government bus service has been suspended many thoroughfares have been sealed by means of containers.
