LOWER DIR: Following a recount of votes PTI-backed candidate Ubaid-ur-Rehman – who got 23,229 votes – was declared winner for PK-17 constituency here on Sunday (11th of Feb).

Earlier, in Form-47 the Returning Officer (RO) had declared Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Izaz-ul-Mulk as winner with 25, 124 votes.

The initial results were challenged by PTI-backed independent candidate Ubaid-ur-Rehman seeking recount at ten stations.

After recount, the RO proclaimed in Form-49 that Izaz-ul-Mulk had bagged 19,990 votes and not 22,981 as declared in the Form-47.
