ISLAMABAD: President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, landed here on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart, on a two-day (12-13 February 2025) visit.
President Erdogan is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, as well as corporate leaders.
Following a rendezvous (on 13th Feb, 2025) involving the two leaders and Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Strategic Cooperation Council it was agreed to continue their efforts to reach the target of $5 billion trade volume.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan talking to the Media stated that both the countries have considered expanding the scope of their current goods trade agreement in the first stage. He said that Turkish investors would be encouraged to engage more in Pakistan and develop flagship projects.
Maintaining that the military dialogue and cooperation in defense industry have grown trade and investment relations exponentially, he said the two sides have reaffirmed the determination to advance the projects and potential areas of cooperation including procurement, sales and joint manufacturing.
Harboring on the subject of 24 agreements signed on Thursday (13th Feb 2025) Turkish President expressed the confidence that they will prove beneficial for the two countries and the region.
Appreciating the role of Pakistan in the war against terrorism Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated Turkiye’s unconditional support.
Speaking about the Kashmir issue Turkish President said his country stood in solidarity with Kashmiri brothers. He said Turkiye would continue its firm support for the resolution of Kashmir dispute through dialogue based on the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Lauding Pakistan’s stance on Palestine, Recep Tayyip Erdogan maintained that both the countries would continue to work together for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
PM Shehbaz Sharif assured of Pakistan’s full support for the cause of Northern Cyprus.
It is pertinent to mention here that Turkiye had always stood by Pakistan through vicissitudes including floods and earthquakes.
PM while talking to Media informed that the two sides had discussed trade, investment, strategic and defense cooperation. He said the agreements and MoUs signed including announcement of SEZ to be built by Turkish firms for industrial production were all going to be materialized through joint cooperation.
PM assured that he would work closely with the Turkish President to transform the agreements into reality.
