SANA MAHMOOD

KARACHI: Celebrating the 70 years of Independence a large number of Karachiites headed towards the beaches of the Metropolis.

Unfortunately, on Monday (14th August) five of them from the same family, drowned near Nasir Restaurant at Hawks Beach.

Drowned people have been identified as Dua Fatima 16, Hussain 42 (Dua’s father who drowned while trying to save his daughter) and Hamna Imran 14.

Usama 20 and Amin 22 got killed when attempted to save the other three.

It is pertinent to mention here that Government did announce a ban on entering the sea. But the orders were not implemented.

Law enforcers lament they lack resources to execute the said orders.
