KARACHI: Hundreds of mills all over the country did not crush wheat for the second day (on Friday 12th July, 2024) on the strike call given by Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) against the newly imposed withholding tax.

It may be recalled that the federal government had imposed withholding tax in the 2024-25 budget resulting into augmentation of flour price.

It is feared that prolonged strike by flour mills would result into shortage of supply of the staple food further adding to the miseries of the suffering masses.
