FO on Security of Chinese Citizens in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly briefing on Thursday (14th November, 2024) has said that Pakistan and China had robust dialogue and cooperation on a range of issues, including counter-terrorism and security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.

“We will continue to work with our Chinese brothers for the safety and security of Chinese nationals, projects and institutions in Pakistan”, FO spokesperson said.

Dismissing the reports that China was asserting Pakistan to join security efforts (allowing Chinese boots on the soil of Pakistan), she said: “We do not respond to Media speculations that are based on unreliable sources and motivated by an agenda to create confusion about the nature of this relationship”.

USA: Focusing on Pak-US terms, she pointed towards the long history of friendly ties and held: “It is in our mutual interest to build on this relationship on the basis of mutual interest and non-interference in each other’s domestic affairs.”

India: Stating that terror groups (active in Pakistan) were receiving support from India, FO spokesperson cited the instance of the Indian Naval Officer who was nabbed back in 2016 during a counter-intelligence raid inside Balochistan.

Afghanistan: Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, warning that it should not test the patience of Pakistani people, once again asked the Afghan authorities to contain the activities of terrorist outfits carried out on the soil of Pakistan.
