Gaza Ceasefire: 8 Israeli hostages are dead

GAZA: Hamas has informed the Israeli authorities that eight of the 26 Israeli hostages scheduled to be released by Hamas in first phase are dead.

David Mencer, spokesman of the Israeli government, while speaking to the Media at a Presser had informed that: “The list from Hamas matches Israel’s intelligence, so I can share with you that… eight have been killed by Hamas…The families have been informed of the situation of their relatives.”

Meanwhile, office of the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has informed that Hamas would release female civilian Arbel Yehud, female soldier Agam Berger and one other hostage on Thursday.

It may be recalled that on 7th day of October, 2023, Hamas attacked Israel, killed 1200 and took 251 hostage. In retaliation Israel killed 47,310 Palestinians in Gaza and transformed the terrain into heaps of rubble.

Hamas had handed over 4 Israeli female soldier hostages (Daniella Gilboa, Liri Albag, Naama Levy and Karina Ariev) to Red Cross in exchange for 200 Palestinian prisoners incarcerated in Israel on Saturday (25th Jan 2025) under the Ceasefire Deal.

The first 3 female hostages, [Doron Steinbrecher (31), dual British-Israeli Emily Damari (28), and Romi Gonen (24)], freed by Hamas on 19th Jan, 2025 are back in Israel.

They were taken to Sheba Hospital as soon as Hamas handed them over to Red Cross. It may be recalled that PM Netanyahu, while addressing the nation on 18th January, said that Israel reserved the right to return to war if ceasefire’s second stage was unsuccessful.

Saying that he was proud to be the leader of Israel overseeing the historic Gaza ceasefire deal. PM stated that (the then) US President Joe Biden and (then) President-elect Donald Trump had fully backed the objective of the war.
