Gaza War: Israel Kills Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar

GAZA: Following a DNA test, Israel has confirmed that its troops have neutralized Yahya Sinwar, the chief of Hamas Politburo, in a Gaza strike on Thursday (17th October, 2024).

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden, while reacting to the news said that was a good day for the world. He had earlier called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to facilitate him on the killing of Yahya Sinwar who, he said, ‘had a lot of blood on his hands’. Vice President Kamala Harris, calling Sinwar the master mind of the 7th October, 2023 attack, said it was the chance to finally end the war in Gaza. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said the he was expecting that Sinwar’s elimination would result into release of hostages. Sinwar had assumed command of Hamas in August, 2024.

Khalil Al-Hahya, Sinwar’s Deputy & Chief Negotiator, has confirmed the death of Yahya Sinwar. Savants at the held of affairs believe that one of the following seven would take place of slain Yahya Sinwar: 1) Marwan Issa; 2) Khaled Meshaal (now 68, had remained perched at Hamas’s top-slot from 2004 and 2017); 3) Brother of Yahna Sinwar, Mohammad Sinwar; 4) Yahya Sinwar’s deputy Khalil Al Hayya who had been involved in ceasefire talks with Israel; 5) Surgeon Mahmoud Al Zahar; 6) Head of Hamas’s battalion based in Rafah named Abu Anas Shabana; 7) Sinwar’s confidant Rawhi Mushtaha.

On 31st of July, 2024 Hamas had confirmed that Israel, by means of guided missile, assassinated its Chief of the Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh.

Hamas stated: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Do not consider those who have been killed in the way of Allah as dead; rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourns to the sons of our great Palestinian people, the Arab and Islamic nation, and all the free people of the world:

Brother leader, martyr, fighter Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the movement, who passed as a result of a treacherous zionist raid on his residence in Tehran, after participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”

Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, while reacting to the murder, maintained since he was killed in Tehran, avenging the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was the duty of Tehran and Israel had provided the grounds for harsh punishment of itself.

Foreign Office of Pakistan, commenting on the assassination Ismail Haniyeh held: “Pakistan condemns the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the Chief of the Political Bureau of Hamas in Tehran today (31st July, 2024).  We extend our condolences to his family and the people of Palestine.

“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings irrespective of the motives.

“We are deeply shocked by the timing of this reckless act. Coinciding with the inauguration of the President of Iran, an event attended by several foreign dignitaries...

“Pakistan views with serious concern the growing Israeli adventurism in the region. Its latest acts constitute a dangerous escalation in an already volatile region and undermine efforts for peace.”
