MMA

NEW DELHI: President Ashraf Ghani, while taking to the audience today here at a Vivekananda International Foundation’s event stated that Afghanistan would not be part of CPEC.

However, he prompted to add that his country could consider endorsing the Corridor project if access to Wagah/Attari border was given to them: “Sanctuaries are provided, logistics are provided, training is provided, ideological base is provided.

“Pakistan has come to a juncture and it needs to make a choice. Our reaction will be determined by its choices”, said Ashraf Ghani.

Observation on Trump’s New S. Asian Policy:

Commenting on the White House’s new S. Asian strategy that terms Pakistan as a country that provides safe havens to terrorists, Afghan President (who visited India a day after US Secretary of State) has said that the new role assigned by US to India apropos Afghanistan would prove to be a game changer.

According to Ghani US strategy regarding S. Asia ‘recommends multi-dimensional condition-based approach for the region”.
