Gimmickry of Tiger Force must end, Shehbaz

LAHORE: Leader of the Opposition in NA Mian Shehbaz Sharif, while terming the setting out of Tiger Force by the incumbent government as political gimmicky, has demanded it should be put to an end.

Shehbaz Sharif’s party PML-N stated: “The political gimmicky of Tiger Force must be put to an end and local bodies should be restored in Punjab to extend practical help to the people being hit by the ongoing  lockdowns in the wake of COVID-19″. PML-N  also expressed its reservations at the procedure adopted to distribute Rs. 12000 each to 12 million deserving families all over the country.

Following a meeting of PML-leaders held via video-link on Saturday (11th of April, 2020) the huddle maintained:  “We condemn the government for using the Tiger Force for petty politics. The political gimmickry of Tiger Force must be put to an end and local bodies should be restored in Punjab to extend practical help to the people being hit by the ongoing lockdowns in the wake of Covid-19.” 

Referring to a stampede that claimed live of a woman who attempted to get the offered handout  the meeting held: “The relief funds are being provided in a very dangerous way as the overcrowding of the people at the cash distribution points may cause spread of the contagion.”
