LAHORE: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was committed to invest in human capital and quality education for the development, prosperity and socio-economic uplift of the people of country.
Addressing the 17th convocation of University of Management and Technology (UMT) here, he said that world community had admired the role of Pakistan for regional peace and prosperity.
He said that National Action Plan (NAP) was being implemented to eliminate extremism and terrorism from the country.
He said that Pakistan was among the largest producers of cotton and dairy products besides having largest irrigation system and reserves of coal and other minerals in the world.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan did not want war with India as it desired peace in the region, adding that Pakistan also wanted to resolve all issues through dialogue.
He said, as usual, the entire Pakistani nation was united against the Indian aggression and war hysteria.
The world has realized that who wanted peace and who wanted war, he maintained.
He said that Pakistan’s Law Enforcement Agencies were fully capable of defending our territories.
The FM said that Pakistan had raised the voice of depressed people of Indian occupied Kashmir at every
forum, adding that Kashmir dispute should be resolved through peaceful dialogues.
He said that efforts were being made to stabilize the economy of the country, adding that the government had put in place measures to formalize the informal economy and extend the tax base, besides carrying out institutional reforms.
