Hamas agrees to release the last American hostage

GAZA: Hamas on Friday (14th March, 2024) has agreed to release 21-year-old Edan Alexander, the last American hostage held here.

According to details, following the receipt of proposal from mediators to continue parleys apropos the 2nd phase of ceasefire deal, Hamas said it responded +vely. Hamas will also be returning the bodies of four dual nationality hostages.

It may be recalled that during the rendezvous with Hamas leaders, US hostage negotiator Adam Boehler sought the release of Edan Alexander (had also served as a soldier with the Israeli military). Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special Ambassador, had earlier said that Alexander’s release was White House’s top priority.
