TEHRAN: IDF, claiming that 15-day Iran-US truce did not extend to Lebanon, has bombed residential areas in C. Beirut, S. Lebanon and E. Bekaa Valley 100 times in ten minutes on Wednesday (8th April, 2026), killing 303 people.
United Nations stated on X: “Lebanon has been hit with one of the largest waves of Israeli airstrikes since the escalation began. Civilians are bearing the brunt of these attacks. Civilians are not a target.”
Speaker, Parliament of Iran, Muhammad Baqar (MB) Ghalibaf took to the X to point out:
1. Lebanon and the entire Resistance Axis , as Iran’s allies, form an inseparable part of the ceasefire. (Point 1, 10-point proposal;
2) PM has publicly and clearly stressed the Lebanon issue (there is no room for denial and backtracking;
3) Ceasefire violations carry explicit costs and STRONG responses. Extinguish the fire immediately!
President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian took to the X to state: “The repeated aggression by the Zionist entity against Lebanon is a flagrant violation of the initial ceasefire agreement and a dangerous indicator of deceit and lack of commitment to potential accords. The continuation of these aggressions will render negotiations meaningless; our hands will remain on the trigger, and Iran will never abandon its Lebanese brothers and sisters.“

Following the proclamation of 15-day conditional truce mediated by Pakistan, on Wed, delegations from Iran and US will hold first round of talks on Saturday (11 April, 2026) morning.
Iran delegation will be headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will be another key person to negotiate with USA.
It is pertinent to mention here that US reckons the ten-point proposal, put forth by Iran, as a workable basis on which to bargain. Security has been beefed up in Islamabad. Furthermore, a two-day holiday has been announced in the Capital. Moreover, Police has shared a Traffic Diversion Plan in order to facilitate the commuters.
