ISLAMABAD: Following proclamation of a 15-Day conditional Truce between Tehran and Washington, the two warring countries are set to meet here on Sat (11th April, 2026) in order to give diplomacy a chance.
Reopening of Strait of Hormuz and Israel’s bombardment of Lebanon will be the top of agenda.
In order to ensure the safety of VVIP negotiators, GoP has deployed army personnel in the Capital besides declaring Friday and Saturday as public holidays.

Interestingly, Iran Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam had deleted his post on X in which he had earlier informed: “Despite skepticism of Iranian public opinion due to repeated ceasefire violations by Israeli regime … Iranian delegation arrives tonight in Islamabad for serious talks based on 10 points proposed by Iran.”

Leader of the American delegation Vice President JD Vance, told that President Donald Trump had had given him clear guidelines for the parleys: “As the president of the United States said, if the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we’re certainly willing to extend the open hand. If they’re going to try to play us, then they’re going to find the negotiating team is not that receptive.”

Other Key negotiator will be Steve Witkoff, who has served as the US Special Envoy to the ME and Special Envoy for Peace Missions since 2025. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner will also be in the American team.
