MOUNT ARAFAT: As the scorching sun baked the land, eighteen lakh thirty-three thousands, one hundred and sixty-four Hujjaj converged here on 9th of ZilHajj (Saturday (15th June, 2024) to perform the Rukn-e-Azam of Hajj known as Waqoof-e-Arafah.
Hajj: 1) State of Ihram; 2) Tawaf-e-Ka’aba (circling the Ka’aba seven times counterclockwise); 3) Sa’i (walk between Safa and Marwa); 4) Stay in Mina; 5) Visit Mount Arafat (Arafah) where Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered Khutba-tul-Wida (the Farewell Sermon); 6) Ramy al-jamarāt Muzdalifah; 7) Jamarāt al-Aqabah; 8) Sacrifice of Animal; 9) Shave or Trim Hair; 10) Ka’aba for the parting Tawaf.

Historically, Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stood on this seventy meters high hill to deliver the Khutba-tul-Wida (Farewell Sermon), towards the end of his life, to the intending pilgrims who accompanied him to Mecca to perform Hajj.
Delivering Hajj sermon at Masjid-e-Nimrah in Maidan-e-Arafat, Sheikh Maher Al Muaiqly called Muslims to forge unity. during the event, in order to facilitate commute, KSA had engaged twenty thousand buses. Moreover, to prevent any untoward incident one hundred thousand security personnel were engaged.
It is pertinent to add here that in 2024 all together eighteen lakh thirty-three thousands, one hundred and sixty-four pilgrims (221,854 locals and 18,33,164 from 200 countries) are performing Hajj. fifty-two percent pilgrims are ladies.
On Sunday (16th June, 2024) the throwing of pebbles (Ramy) at the shaitan/devil (symbolically three walls/pillars called jamarāt) will take place in Mina. Following which animals will be sacrificed.
Before going back home the Hujjaj go to Ka’aba for the parting Tawaf.
