NEW DELHI: Indian state-run Defense Research and Development Organisation and industry partners, disclosed on Sunday (17th November, 2024) that they have developed and successfully test fired long-range hypersonic missile.
The hypersonic missile, developed by India is capable of carrying payloads for ranges exceeding 1,500 km. It is pertinent to mention here that possession of such advanced technology facilitates India to enter the elitist club that happens to harbour members like China, Russia and USA.
Interesting, US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller has said that US had been clear and consistent about its concerns with Pakistan’s ballistic missile program for many years.
“It has been our longstanding policy to deny support to Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile program, and we will continue to use our sanctions and other – our other tools to ensure our national security cannot be – cannot be impacted, and that the US financial system cannot be used by proliferators.
“Pakistan has been a long-term partner of ours, and I think what this action shows is that there continue to be places where we have disagreement, and when we have disagreements, we won’t hesitate to act on those to protect America’s interests,” he stated.
It may be recalled that on 12th September, 2024, Miller told that sanctions had been imposed on those Chinese companies who had (allegedly) been providing technology and material to Pakistan for its ballistic missiles program.
US sanctions had been imposed on:
Hubei Huachangda Intelligent Equipment CO,
Universal Enterprise,
Xi’an Longde Technology Development Co,
Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machine Building Industry.
