Interpol rejects Pak Govt request to issue Red Warrant against Ishaq Dar

LONDON: Rejecting Pakistan government’s request to issue a red warrant against its former finance minister Ishaq Dar, Interpol General Secretariat has instructed its National Central Bureaus to delete all data files in their systems issuing him a clean certificate that he was not subject to an Interpol Red Notice of diffusion.

Pakistan government through the interior ministry had requested the Interpol to issue red arrest warrant against presently London-based minister, who now lives in London, but Interpol decided to reject the request after evaluating the evidence submitted by Dar.

Interpol has issued a certificate to Ishaq Dar apropos its decision confirming that he’s not subject to any red notice: “The General Secretariat of the International Criminal Police Organization-Interpol hereby certifies that, as of today, Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar born on 13 May 1950, is not subject to an Interpol Notice or diffusion.”

ISLAMABAD: NAB is all set to ask Interpol to issue red warrant facilitating extradition of P.O. former finance minister Ishaq Dar from London.
According to details, following an executive board meeting headed by Chairman retired justice Javed Iqbal held here at its headquarters, NAB has said that it would get Dar extradited to Pakistan with Interpol’s assistance.
An accountability court, hearing reference against him for accumulating assets beyond means, had declared him P.O. when he repeatedly failed to appear before court saying that he was under medical treatment in London.

NAB reiterated that the P.O. Dar was not suffering from any maladie that could not be treated back home.

Pakistan signs MoU with UK for extradition of Ishaq Dar

LONDON: Pakistan authorities have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK for extradition of former finance minister Ishaq Dar.

The MoU was signed after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Adviser on Accountability Shahzad Akbar held meetings with British Home Secretary Sajid Javid. The adviser expressed hope for the smooth process of extradition of Ishaq Dar.

Earlier, National Accountability Bureau had approached the accountability court for the auction of movable and immovable properties of the ex-minister as he is absconding in assets beyond income reference.
