KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that results of PS-11 Larkana by-poll will be challenged.
Taking to the Twitter Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held:
“We will challenge this rigging at every forum. The truth can’t be hidden. We will expose this selection. We will have a re-election and take back this seat.
“I’m proud of PPP workers for fighting an honorable election. Despite immense pressure form the establishment. From pre-poll with NAB arresting & sending notices to PPP workers & their families.
“On polling day, Rangers took over the inside of polling stations. harassed our women voters, threw out our polling agents, and deliberately slowed polling. Women polling stations where PPP preforms well were purposely started hours late.
“Since morning media was reporting women voters they were threatened them to vote for GDA. Despite our pleas, ECP did not take notice.
“Our candidate wasn’t even allowed inside polling stations. We kept asking ECP to intervene but its malafide intent was apparent in its silence. Despite all this political engineering PPP has reduced the GDA/JUIF/PTI+ lead by 5,000 votes in less than a year.”
Political Secretary of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Jameel Ahmed Soomro (R) who mustered 26,021 votes up.

Winning candidate Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi said that despite using the government machinery for winning the by-poll, the way PPP candidate lost in Bhuttos’ ancestral stronghold Larkana itself, manifested that PPP would be wiped out of Sindh by 2023.
Polling for the Sindh Assembly constituency PS-11 (Larkana-II) by-election that commenced at 8AM continued till 5:00 pm. Despite appeals for extension of the closing time polling stopped as per schedule. Though eleven aspirants were contesting the elections, main contestants were PPP’s Jameel Ahmed Soomro and GDA’s Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi.
There are 1,52,614 (83,016 male, 69,598 female) registered voters out of which a sizable number of voters had used their right to franchise in today’s by-poll to elect their representative for Sindh Assembly’s PS 11 seat at 138 polling stations established by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

A couple of days ago Pakistan Peoples Party expressed its displeasure noting that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islam-Fazl was supporting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf backed candidate. Interestingly, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islam-Fazl is spearheading an anti-government movement by means of Azadi March and staging a sit-in (dharna) in Islamabad.
Irked by Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islam-F’s dual policy, President of the Sindh Chapter of Pakistan Peoples Party Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has asked Fazl to clarify his party’s position, does it act differently in the province?
“It is a dual policy of JUI-F to be PTI’s opponent in the Centre and an ally in Sindh. PPP is facilitating JUI-F for Azadi March in Sindh on the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and JUI-F is getting all possible help from Sindh Government but it is campaigning against PPP in the by-elections” Nisar Ahmed Khuhro held.
Pakistan Peoples Party held a number of public gatherings here to motivate party workers and voters ahead of the by-polls. Meanwhile, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been served three notices for visiting the constituency and campaigning for his party’s candidate violating the Election Commission of Pakistan’s rules that prohibit campaigning a couple of days before the polls.
