LHC stops handing over 45K acres of land to Army

LAHORE: Punjab caretaker govt has been stopped by Justice Abid Hussain Chattha of LHC here on Friday (30th of March, 2023) from handing over the terrain measuring some 45,267 acres (situated in Bhakkar, Khushab and Sahiwal districts) to Army.

It is pertinent to mention here that a couple of weeks ago Punjab government had signed an agreement to hand over the land to the the Army.

LHC was hearing a petition filed by Ahmad Rafay Alam on 28th of March, 2023 on behalf of Public Interest Law Association of Pakistan.
