Monsoon 2017: Beware Karachiites as next rain spell may up fungal infections!

KARACHI: Another spell of rain is around the corner here in this Megapolis and the situation of sewerage is worst, resulting in spreading hazardous fungal infections in the atmosphere.

Such infections are prevalent among humans. It usually occurs when a fungus attacks any part of the body and immune structure could not make it to combat this chaos.

Air, soil, water and plants harbor innumerable fungi. When detrimental fungi penetrate in the body, it could be difficult to slay those because they can endure in the milieu and re-infect the person again and again.

They could invade any person. However, diabetics, cancer patients and those with fragile immune system are more prone to contract a fungal infection. Also, if you are taking antibiotics, then the odds are high that you may have this trouble.

As mentioned earlier it is quite common to have one and it could cure rapidly if noticed on time. Usually, skin specialists prescribe some creams and medications to antidote this chaos.

Athlete’s foot, yeast infection, jock itch and ring worm etc are the most common sorts of fungi.

Symptoms may vary from person to person but the most prevalent one include redness, swelling, itchiness, peeling or cracking skin, burning sensation as well as bumps around the area.

In order to prevent such fungi, one should keep their skin clean and dry. Eat a balanced diet and maintain a proper hygiene. Wear loose cloths made from natural fibers. Wash underwear with hot water and change feminine products often.

Also, folks should avoid sharing stuff such as towels, cloths and brushes as such contagious fungi could spread with the exposure of infected objects.
