NEW ORLEANS: As people were celebrating the advent of 2025, an American national from Texas, 42-year-old army veteran (discharged in 2015) Shamsuddin Jabbar, (having IS flag in his rented truck, guns and explosives on him), rammed the vehicle on them here on Wednesday killing ten and injuring 35.
According to FBI, Shamsuddin Jabbar, who worked in Army’s human resources and IT section, was also deployed to Afghanistan (from Feb 2009 to Jan 2010). Negating his claim (propagated by means of Social Media) apropos his association with IS, FBI holds that he was acting alone.
The attacker also opened fire on cops, who retaliated and shot him dead: “This man was trying to run over as many people as he could. He was hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did,” Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said at a televised Presser. US President Joe Biden appreciated the courage and swift response of local law enforcement in preventing even greater death and injury.
Biden directed his team to ensure every resource was available to get to the bottom of the crime and to ensure that there was no remaining threat of any kind: “My heart goes out to the victims and their families who were simply trying to celebrate the holiday. There is no justification for violence of any kind, and we will not tolerate any attack on any of our nation’s communities.”
US Attorney General Merrick Garland stated that the FBI was investigating the incident as an act of terrorism.…“heart is broken for those who began their year by learning people they love were killed in this horrific attack, and my prayers are with the dozens who were injured, including the New Orleans Police Department Officers who risked their lives to save others.”
Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump grasped at the opportunity to condemn migration: “When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the fake news media, but it turned out to be true…
“The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before. Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department. The Trump administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil.”
