ARY News NOC Cancelled

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior on Thursday (11th of August, 2022) cancelled the NOC of Ary Communications Pvt Ltd due to adverse reports against the channel from the agencies.

According to Interior Ministry notification issued on 11th August to PEMRA: “The NOC issued in favor of M/S ARY Communications Private (Ltd). is cancelled with immediate effect and until further orders on the basis of adverse reports from agencies.”

Condemning the suspension of the Channel, ARY News management termed the development as yet another move against the journalist fraternity.”  Some 4000 workers, who are employed by the network, might find themselves sans employment.

Journalist Talat Hussain took to the Twitter to state: “Withdrawal of security clearance to ARY, though challengeable in the court, is serious business. The channel can be shut down immediately. The Gill episode is just starting to show consequences”.
