Quetta: The murder of 9 workers on NA-40 near Noshki (Balochistan) in the early hours of Saturday (13th April, 2024) had been condemned by PM Shehbaz Sharif who sought a report.

According to DC Noshki, Habibullah Musakhel, a dozen unidentified militants boarded a Taftan-bound passenger bus after blockading the Highway N-40 in the vicinity of Sultan Charhai near Noshki and abducted nine voyagers after segregating those hailing from Punjab (Wazirabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujranwala).

Bodies of the kidnapped Punjabi workers, that were found under a nearby bridge after 90 minutes, were transported to Quetta, Noshki Civil Hospital. Their Namaz-e-Janaza have been offered at Police Line here. Meanwhile, Province’s CM, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has ordered transportation of victims’ bodies to their hometowns by means of PDMA and Edhi ambulances.

It is pertinent to mention here that 8 personnel of Levies Force, who failed to stop the kidnapping, have been taken into custody. At the same blockage, militant’s shot at a car (that, instead of stopping attempted to force its way through the gunmen’s cordon,) killing two occupants who turned out to be locals. FC and local LEAs are in the process of combing the area to trace the culprits.
