Opposition should respect state institutions: Cheema

ISLAMABAD: The Central Secretary Information Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Omer Sarfaraz Cheema Thursday advised that the Pakistan People’s party and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz should respect state institutions and realize that people want fair accountability of those who looted country.

In an interview, he assured that the process of accountability against the corrupt elements would continue according to state laws without any discrimination for the prosperity of the country.

He criticized that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) protest outside accountability court was a planned drama, adding, such actions could not stop the process of accountability which will move forward at all costs.

He said those who attacked policemen would be arrested and the law would take its due course of action.

Omer Cheema also made it clear that the government would not offer National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to any political party and carry out the accountability without any pause in the country.

PTI leader said the PPP and the PML-N wanted to protect the public money looted by their leadership and that was the reason, both the political forces were engaged in playing tricks with the present government just to escape from accountability.

He said opposition have right of protest but it must be for the public interests, he added.
