ISLAMABAD: A credit of $61.6 million will be given by World Bank to Pakistan to contain stunting among children.
According to details principally 23 districts in Sindh would be focused where stature of more than 40% kids has been found below average.
Five to six year old children will be targeted in the Sindh Enhancing Response to Reduce Stunting.

KARACHI: Sindh Growth Forum was organized by Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh, in order to discuss opportunities for inclusive growth in the province and build consensus for reforms.
The event titled From Ideas to Implementation was held in collaboration with the World Bank Group.

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah while setting the tone about implementation told the ladies and gentlemen in the audience that both developmental and non-developmental budgets have been increased.
While focusing on a number of issues like, vibrancy of Stock Exchange, Wind and Solar Power generation, employment via CPEC, CM stressed that all efforts were meant to ameliorate the common man’s quality of life.

In his keynote speech Patchamuthu Illangovan, World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, pledged the continuous support of World Bank for Sindh.
Illangovan noted that the Province of Sindh harbored tremendous Natural and Human Resources.
Country Director pointed out that in the last seven decades with the expanding population the growth rate should have doubled.

While quoting examples of a number of countries he maintained that they have managed to move from low income to higher income level through progress made over decades.
Noting that currently very few formal jobs were available in Sindh he said that key to job creation was productivity.

During brainstorming a number of matters transpired: For instance, consensus was drawn that Government needed to partner with its people, Sindh needed smarter ways to use the allocated resources, raising per acre yield of farmers will increase their income by 50% in short span of time etc. Panelists’ remarks were followed by moderated plenary discussion.
