Peshawar hospital temporarily suspends cardiac surgeries

PESHAWAR: The administration of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has ordered to stop cardiac surgeries due to review of the machines and other equipment needed in Cardiovascular department.

The purpose of the review is to ensure quality treatment to the patients who undergo different surgeries and they are operated according to international standards said the Spokesperson Asim.

Hospital administration is very keen to provide all sorts of facilities not only to cardiovascular department but also to other departments as well.

For this purpose medical equipments worth more than a billion were purchased recently for various departments due to which medical care is improved a lot and patients prefer to come to LRH from all over the province.

The administration therefore decided that there will be no cardiac surgeries till further orders.

Meanwhile, the doctors in Cardiovascular department had written a letter to administration of the hospital that there was shortage of some machines for major operations and asked its supply on priority basis.
