PFUJ and PUJ to demonstrate protesting against journalist Zeeshan Butt’s murder

SIALKOT: On the instructions of Rana Azeem (President PFUJ), G. M. Jamali (Secretary General PFUJ), Shahzad Hussain Butt (President PUJ) and Ashraf Majeed (General Secretary) a five-member team met the family of murdered journalist Zeeshan Butt.

Family of murdered Zeeshan Butt has been assured of all the legal assistance from Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists. The legal matters will be looked after by Aftab Bajwa (former secretary Supreme Court Bar).

Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists team has conveyed leadership’s message to bereaved family that the Federation would play its role till the culprits are punished.

The team also discussed the matter with DPO Sialkot, RPO Gujranwala and DCO Sialkot and got updates regarding the case.

A series of demonstrations will be commencing from next Tuesday to protest against the gruesome murder.

President PFUJ Rana Azeem, President PUJ Shahzad Hussain Butt, General Secretary Ashraf Majeed and other office-bearers will be meeting the Government higher-ups including Inspector General Punjab Police in this respect.

A petition apropos provision and ameliorating the security condition for the journalists had been filed in the Supreme Court today.
