PFUJ renounces support to PBA/APNS Campaign

KARACHI: President PFUJ G.M. Jamali, Secretary General Rana Mohammad Azeem and other office-bearers, while commenting on the advertisements being run by a number of Newspapers and TV Channels, renounced PFUJ’s support proclaiming that its logo was fraudulently being used in the said commercials.

Affiliated with International Federation of Journalists (IFJ -representing 600,000 Media Workers in 140 countries) PFUJ is led by President G. M. Jamali and Secretary General Rana Mohammad Azeem.

Whereas, self-proclaimed groups have been created in order to fulfill their ulterior motives and that of the Media House owners, particularly Mir Shakeel-ur-Rahman.

G. M. Jamali making it clear that PFUJ was not supporting the campaign launched by PBA and APNS, stated that these two organisations were responsible for the economic massacre of Journalists/Media Workers.

He said that PBA and APNS had not only been verbally told but also informed in writing repeatedly that Journalists /Media Workers were being monetarily assassinated in various Media Houses by means of diminution/non-payment of salaries.

G. M. Jamali reiterated that PBA and APNS had been notified a number of times that Media Houses, earning billions of rupees, were not paying salaries to Journalists/Media Workers for months.

President PFUJ G. M. Jamali pointed out that even when Media Houses started getting huge amounts of money for advertisements on court’s orders, they did not pay dues to the Journalists/Media Workers, nor had stopped terminating them from jobs.

G. M. Jamali, holding that APNS and PBA wanted to use its name, stated that  PFUJ would not support them until the laid-off Journalists/Media Workers were reinstated, orders to cut back their remunerations were withdrawn and Journalists/Media Workers were paid their salaries.

G. M. Jamali, proclaiming again that PFUJ was not supporting PBA and APNS, announced that court would be moved against  deceitful utilization of PFUJ Logo.
