PM reviews PTI’s ‘Raiwind March’ issue on his return after attending UNGA session

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has returned home after representing Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly session.

Nawaz, who raised the Kashmir issue at the international platform, is reviewing the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s Raiwind March issue after joining the office here on Wednesday.

PTI is all set to put pressure on Nawaz government to face the Panama Leaks issue honestly by marching towards his Raiwind home. The march will take place on 29th and 30th September.

With the opposition parties distancing from the Raiwind march, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said there was no reason for him to continue to press on political parties to join the September 30 march, adding that Panama Leaks was a national issue, not a personal one.

“I will not plead anyone to come out on the streets, especially when all the opposition parties had a united stance over the matter,” Khan said, adding that there was no denying that the party has ‘street power’ and street politics too was part of a democratic process.

“If PM Nawaz goes scot-free from this, it will discredit all institutions that serve to provide justice,” he reiterated.

Earlier, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) announced it will not participate in PTI’s Raiwind March as it could lead to a ruler’s residence being besieged.

“I am unanimously announcing that we will not launch any sort of attack even on our worst enemies nor will the party even block the streets leading to their residence,” PAT Chairman Tahirul Qadri said.

“My workers unanimously called for launching a protest but I, as leader announce that I will not violate or desecrate the boundaries of any person’s house,” he added.
