ISLAMABAD: PM Shehbaz Sharif on Monday (18th of March, 2024) felicitated President Vladimir Putin on his re-election saying that he looked forward to working with him in order to further ameliorate the bilateral ties.
President Asif Ali Zardari, who took to the Twitter to congratulate Putin, held: “I am confident that relations between Pakistan and Russia will grow further under your dynamic leadership.”
71-year-old President Vladimir Putin, who bagged 87.2 percent of the total votes cast during the 3-day election process, has earned the distinction of being the longest-serving Russian leader in over two centuries.
Talking to the Media, following his landslide victory, Putin said that Russia would not be intimidated by anyone: “No matter who or how much they want to intimidate us, no matter who or how much they want to suppress us, our will, our consciousness – no one has ever succeeded in anything like this in history. It has not worked now and will not work in the future. Never.”
It is pertinent to mention here that all his principal opponents are either dead, incarcerated or exiled.
