GAZA: Taking advantage of the 3-day humanitarian pauses here, 640,000 children under 10 are being administered 2 polio doses per child.

In order to facilitate the campaign, WHO had delivered 1.26 million doses of the oral vaccine in Gaza. The campaign, that was supposed to commence on Sunday (1st Sept, 2024), started a day earlier. Following vaccination in Central Gaza, the vaccines will be administered in Southern and Northern Gaza.

It is pertinent to mention here that early August (2024) polio-virus was confirmed in an unvaccinated 10-month-old-baby from Central Gaza.
