Power plants being shifted to RLNG and coal, Abid Sher Ali

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali says the government is pursuing renewable energy projects to meet the growing requirements of power.

Responding to the questions in the Senate on Friday, he said the power plants are being shifted to RLNG and the coal to produce the electricity.

He said these are all environment friendly projects and 3600 MW of electricity will be produced through the RLNG as per the policy.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the House that the selection of Hujjaj is being carried out through a transparent balloting process.

He said it has been the utmost effort of the government to acquire accommodations for the Hujjaj at the central area both in Makkah and Madina.

Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani told the House that a number of schemes are being launched to provide housing facilities to the federal government employees.

For this purpose, he said a land of 65000 kanal has been acquired.

To a question,a summary to construct 1200 flats in G-6 Sector after the demolition of 90 old houses has been sent to the Prime Minister for approval.
