PSL Opening Ceremony: Jahangir Khan to bring trophy

KARACHI: Jahangir Khan has said that bringing PSL trophy to opening ceremony would be a remarkable moment for him and he was looking forward to that.

According to details Squash legend Jahangir Khan will be bringing the PSL 2020 trophy to National Stadium on Wednesday 19th of February, 2020.  He is scheduled to  enter the stadium with the trophy for its inauguration ceremony which is being held in Pakistan for the first time and hand it over to Sarfaraz Ahmed, captain of the defending champions Quetta Gladiators.

Skipper of Gladiators then will pass the trophy to PCB chairman Ehsan Mani, who will officially open it along with the owners and captains of all teams participating in the tournament.

It is pertinent to mention here that the 8kg, 65 cm long trophy had been designed by UK-based based Ottewill Silversmiths. The trophy will be used in all future events of the PSL and the names of every year’s winning team will be engraved on it.

PSL Season 5: Zalmi’s Javed Afridi wants matches in Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: Peshawar Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi has today demanded to also hold Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 5 matches in Peshawar.

In a statement issued here, he said the people of Peshawar should also get a chance to witness the high profile PSL matches. “People of Peshawar should get a chance to see the home team playing at it’s home ground,” he said.

He said Zalmi would hold promotional events before and during the PSL 5. “Foreign cricketers would also be a part of the Zalmi promotional events to be held in all big cities of the country,” he said.

Afridi said PSL helped in reviving not only cricket but also other games in Pakistan and also lauded holding PSL 5 in the country. “Holding of PSL 5 in Pakistan is historic and has great importance,” he said.
