ISLAMABAD: PTI on Thursday (16th Jan, 2025) presented 22-points written Charter of Demands to the government (represented by eight people including Speaker NA) during the 3rd round of parleys.
It may be recalled that the negotiations commenced towards the end of Dec last year sans a written Charter of Demands. PTI, among other things, wants formation of a judicial commission to probe the 9th May and 26th Nov events, release of prisoners.
Those who attended the Thursday meeting included Secretary General of PTI Salman Akram Raja, Leader of the Opposition in NA Omar Ayub, CM of KP Ali Amin Gandapur, PTI’s Asad Qaiser (PTI), Chief of SIC Hamid Raza, MWM Chief Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffri (Senator) and PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.
Govt was represented by Ishaq Dar, PML-N’s Irfan Siddiqui, PPP’s Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Naveed Qamar, Rana Sanaullah, MQM-P’s Dr Farooq Sattar, PML-Z’s Ijaz-ul-Haq and Balochistan Awami Party’s Nawabzada Khalid Hussain Magsi were also present as part of the government committee.
Irfan Siddiqui, commenting on the Charter of Demands presented by the PTI observed that it was more of a charge sheet.
