PYONGYANG: Russian President Vladimir Putin will be discussing a number of issues (including ‘Blackmail and Military Threats from USA‘) with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after his arrival here on Tuesday (18th June, 2024) during his first visit to the nuclear-armed DPRK in 24 years.
Before the meeting, by means of a correspondence (run by Rodong Sinmun, North Korea’s ruling party mouthpiece), Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to build trade and security systems with DPRK that ‘are not controlled by the West’. Russian leader maintained in the letter that, despite the US pressure, blackmail and military threats, his country would continue to support North Korea.
Putin further held in his correspondence that Russia and North Korea would resolutely oppose the Western ambition to hinder the establishment of a multipolarised world order based on mutual respect for justice. Focusing on the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin praised North Korea for firmly supporting Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
