KARACHI: Commissioner Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced a public holiday on Tuesday (23rd April, 2024) in the Metropolis (to avoid inconvenience to the citoyens) on the occasion of the visit of Irani President Ebrahim Raisi, where educational institutions, government and private offices will remain closed.
Raisi is scheduled to go to a number of cities including the Walled City Lahore and the Port City Karachi where he will visit the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam.
FO has informed on Sunday (21st April, 2024) that Ebrahim Raisi will be accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation comprising the Foreign Minister and other members of the cabinet, senior officials as well as a large business delegation.
It is pertinent to mention to mention here that after the 8th February polls this Ebrahim Raisi will be first Head of State to visit Pakistan.
FO further stated: “The two sides will have a wide-ranging agenda to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran ties and enhance cooperation in diverse fields including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and people-to-people contacts.
“They will also discuss regional and global developments and bilateral cooperation to combat the common threat of terrorism.
“Pakistan and Iran enjoy strong bilateral ties anchored in history, culture and religion.
“This visit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations.”
