Safoora Goth pink bus attack financier incarcerated for a decade

KARACHI: Ex-engineer of PIA, Khalid Yusuf Bari, who has been found guilty of

financing IS-inspired militants has been sent to jail for ten years by ATC 4 judge.

According to the verdict he has provided financial assistance to the attackers (Tahir Hussain Minhas alias Saeen, Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin, Muhammad Azhar Ishrat alias Majid, Hafiz Nasir Ahmed and Asadur Rehman alias Malik who had been awarded death sentence by a military court).

They had carried out Safoora Goth bus massacre here in May 2015, killing 45 members of Ismaili community.

When the arrested attackers revealed his name, Bari was nabbed in September 2015.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday has confirmed death sentences awarded to five ‘hardcore terrorists’ convicted by military courts, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were being tried for committing heinous offences relating to terrorism including Safoora Goth gun attack, the murder of rights activist Sabeen Mehmood and bombing at a mosque of Bohra community.

Earlier, the suspected militants involved in Safoora Goth carnage were shifted to Malir Jail to be tried in military courts

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) referred the case of terrorists involved in the Safoora carnage to military courts.

The official submitted a report to the ATC, contending that eighteen cases against the Safoora tragedy suspects have been sent to military courts.

These terrorists were to be produced before the ATC in the cases pertaining to attacks on Islamic Research Center (IRC) and Bohra community.

It is pertinent to mention here that eight gunmen had attacked a bus travelling in Safoora Goth on May 13, 2015, leaving 46 people dead, most of them were of Ismaili community.

Eight ‘hardcore terrorists’ to go to gallows

ISLAMABAD (28 Dec., 2016): Eight hardcore terrorists who were convicted by military courts will go to gallows as the COAS has signed their black warrants.

According to ISPR the convicts were found involved in a number of high-profile crimes including Safoora Goth Pink Bus attack in which 45 members of Ismaili community were gunned down & murder of T2F’s Sabeen Mahmud. 

Altogether they have killed ninety people and wounded 99. Three other convicts have been incarcerated.

According to jail sources, the accused transferred to the jail included Saad Aziz, Tahir Minhas, Azhar Ishrat and Sultan Qamar Siddiqui.

The shifting took place ahead of their trial in military court, they said.

It is pertinent to mention here that eight gunmen had attacked a bus travelling in Safoora Goth on May 13, 2015, leaving 46 people dead, most of them were of Ismaili community.

KARACHI: Police has arrested a suspect Dr. Usman, a dentist by profession, after an encounter here on Sunday.

He is accused of being an Al-Qaida facilitator and Safoora Goth massacre’s main accused Saad Aziz.

Preedy police has booked Usman in two cases of attacking police and under section 13-D (possession of illegal weapons).

While talking to NewsPaksitan.Tv Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) head Raja Umar Khattab has said that Usman knew Saad Aziz but was not directly involved in the Sohrab Goth incident in which six gunmen shot and killed 43 members of Ismaili community.
